The role of insulated shoes
The term "insulation" refers to the encapsulation of a charged body with an insulating material to isolate a charged body or a conductor of a different potential so that current can flow in a certain path. Good insulation is a necessary condition to ensure the normal operation of equipment and lines, and is also an important measure to prevent electric shock accidents. Insulation often plays other roles: heat dissipation, mechanical support and fixation, energy storage, arc extinguishing, moisture protection, mildew resistance, and protection of conductors.
Insulated shoes standard
The new standard stipulates that electrically insulated shoes are used as safety aids for electrical work. As a labor safety manager, this should be clearly understood. Often, some managers with insufficient electrical knowledge mistakenly believe that 6KV insulation shoes or 5KV cloth insulation shoes, the application range is 6KV or 5KV environment, which is very wrong. In electrical safety management, insulation tools are divided into basic safety tools and auxiliary safety equipment. The so-called basic safety equipment refers to safety equipment with sufficient insulation strength to withstand the electrical application voltage, such as insulating rods, insulating clamps, and insulation tables (ladders). Auxiliary safety equipment is not enough to withstand the electrical operating voltage. In electrical work, the basic safety equipment (such as insulating mats, insulated shoes) can not touch the live part. But it can prevent the impact of the step voltage on the human body. Insulating shoes and cloth insulation shoes are mainly used as auxiliary safety tools under the power frequency of 1000V.
According to the requirements of the new standard, the thickness of the outer sole of the electric insulation shoe shall not be less than 4 mm, and the thickness shall not be less than 6 mm when the pattern cannot be measured. In the current market, the phenomenon of replacing the labor-insulated shoes with the life soles often occurs. It is the thinnest part of the sole and it is less than 6 mm. The upper or sole of the insulated shoes purchased by the company shall have the standard number, insulation type and voltage value. Companies should also be aware of the qualifications of manufacturers.
The length of the outer sole wear scar of the electric insulation shoes should be no more than 10mm; the wear reduction of the electric insulation cloth shoes is not more than 1.4cm3; the wear reduction of the 15kv and the electric insulation rubber boots is not more than 1.0cm3; the wear of the electric insulating rubber boots of 20kv and above The reduction is not more than 1.9cm3.
Insulation shoes
Electrically insulated shoes shall be subjected to preventive inspection according to the specified period of use (storage: 18 months from the factory, 6 months in use, depending on the labor intensity and the environment of use), and the withstand voltage and leakage current may meet the requirements. continue to use.
Of course, it depends on the working environment in which the insulated shoes are used and the condition in which the insulated shoes are used. Some people can wear a pair of shoes for a few years, but some people's feet are like eating shoes, and they are broken in a few weeks. Therefore, the insulated shoes must also pay attention to the safety shoes themselves during use. If there is damage, replace them immediately!
Insulation shoes should be tested for resistance for 3 months in use, to see if it is within the normal range. If the corresponding requirements are not met, they should be replaced immediately to avoid accidents.
